What changed
From April 2026, the full new State Pension is £241.30 a week, up 4.8%. That is about £12,548 over a 52-week year.
What it means for you
- You need 35 qualifying years of National Insurance for the full amount, and at least 10 to get any.
- Each qualifying year is worth about £6.89 a week towards the full amount.
- You normally have to claim your State Pension. It is not paid automatically.
